I was diagnosed with Melanoma (skin cancer) in July of 2009. I wanted to make a place to share my thoughts, feelings and resources about melanoma and my experiences with it.
I had a mole removed, a wide-area excision, a sentinel node biopsy and several lymph nodes taken from my right leg/groin.
In February of 2012, I experienced a recurrence of my Metastatic Melanoma. After unsuccessful exploratory surgery, it was determined I would have to undergo additional therapy.

I really thought about skipping my last derm appointment. I promise that I will never forget you. Thank you for all your advise and support since my own diagnosis. Part of me wishes I was better with words, so those that follow can better understand what your story meant to me; but the other part of me knows whatever I say wouldn’t take away your cancer or bring you back to life or take away your boys’ pain over their profound loss. I’m just sending up prayers. I will miss you.
